We are standing on the shore of a lake. A line of tall trees of varying heights runs across a narrow peninsula which stands between us and the rest of the lake. There is a low ridge behind them across the lake. Trees, peninsula and ridge are all silhouetted against the sunset. The sky is cloudy, but clearing along the western horizon. There is a patch of gold where the sun is setting. The bottoms of the clouds covering most of the sky are painted pink and blue violet. Trees and sky are reflected in the slightly rippled waters of the small cove in front of us.

Beneath a very pale blue sky about half filled with small puffy clouds, the sun has set behind a low wooded ridge across a large lake. Its rays are painting the bottoms of clouds near the horizon light yellow and pale pink. A rocky peninsula juts out into the lake from right to left in front of us, creating a small cove that mirrors the sky on its gently rippled surface. In the foreground are tall water grasses and leafy plants growing just offshore. A few trees and shrubs are growing along the top of the peninsula, the sides of which are mostly covered by dense leafy underbrush. Everything pictured except the sky and the lake are partially silhouetted in the evening light.

The deceptively calm stillness of a summer evening beside a lake. Looking out through a thicket of green leafy shoots growing beside the lake. Above the wooded far shore some tall thunderstorm clouds are being smudged in long hazy streaks across a pale blue sky by much stronger breezes aloft. The setting sun is tinting the clouds and haze in shades of pale gold and pink. Sky and far shore are mirrored in the very slightly rippled waters below.

An overgrown field at the edge of the forest, filled with very tall grasses and leafy shrubs sprinkled with dozens of yellow and white wildflowers. It is a bit past sunset, the forest is dark and mysterious in the evening light. The pale blue sky is filled with a dramatic mass of whipped cream clouds painted bright gold and orange by that setting sun.
