Oatmeal raisin cookies...my favorite family recipe!
First time using egg substitute powder in a bake, and I think I'll draw back the extra baking soda a bit, because that product results in more rise since it too has baking soda. No real issue, just had to knock out some air, and I had the presence of mind to reduce salt.
Husband had to try one while cooling and it got his emphatic approval to the point he declared he'd steal another one.
Got a brainworm to adapt this recipe, sans oats and with a lot more nuts, with Indian ingredients and flavors.
But anyway, here's hoping I can pull the same magic with tomorrow's shep's pie!
A white laminate countertop lined with wax paper, and two wire cooling racks arranged vertically. The far rack has 6 cooling cookies on it (rows of 2/3/1 with the 1 to the right), because my husband just had to try them. The fresh-out-of-the-oven cookies near the viewer are arranged 3/3/2.
...why *do* they call it oven when you of in the cold food out hot eat the food, hmmm?
An open, lit oven with a baking sheet placed on the center rack, topped with a sheet of parchment paper and 8 balls of oatmeal raisin cookie dough, arranged in 2 rows of 4.
