#CGAPrints update: Release Candidate 1? I took some time today to test-print some colours that arrived this week, and they seem pretty close. This is the first time I've compared a full batch of #thrixels against colours on a real screen - what do you think?

All 16 colours are different brands and types of PLA, so given access to the complete palette, basically every printer should be capable of making some form or other of CGA pixel art.

Da ich keine einfache Lösung fand, einen Bildschirm/Beamer "mal eben" Betriebssystem-unabhängig abzudunkeln, habe ich was gebastelt:

Funktioniert bestimmt nicht mit allen Konfigurationen (Darkmode-Plugins etc.), aber "works for me".

I'd love to take this a bit further with the biggest QorIQ SoC from the same product line, the P2020. Before the Turris Omnia router project by CZ.NIC there was the Turris 1.0/1.1 using this exact SoC. They seem to be quite hard to find though. If anyone has a spare Turris 1.0 or 1.1 around or is willing so sell theirs I'd be very interested!

Der Ort 索罟灣 (Sok Kwu Wan) ist für die Seafood Restaurants bekannt, die sich an der Wasserkante entlangreihen. Als wir im Februar da waren, waren aber viele davon geschlossen oder fast nicht besucht. Die strikten Einreisebedingungen wegen Corona wurden erst wenige Tage zuvor gelockert. Wir schienen an viele Orten die ersten Touristinnen nach 3 Jahren zu sein.

Ich fand’s immer ein bisschen affig, dass #Odo in der deutschen Fassung von #DeepSpaceNine ein „Wechselbalg“ war. Was ne komische Übersetzung, dachte ich mir. „Changeling“ klingt cooler, und überhaupt, bei „Balg“ hatte ich immer nen Blasebalg im Kopf.

Bis ich irgendwann gelernt habe: „Changeling“ ist ein Wort für etwas ganz Bestimmtes: Ein Feenkind, das Menschen untergeschmuggelt wurde.

Im Deutschen gibt es das Konzept auch. Es heißt – Wechselbalg.

Made a simple orange soda today, really happy with how it turned out! I put the recipe here, along with my modified cola recipe, and the almond + blood orange drink I invented: https://github.com/blinry/soft-drink-recipes

In today's cola batch, I reduced the amount of sucralose further to 0.4 g, added 0.07 g vanillin, as well as a bit more cassia oil. Good stuff! I call it "Syntez-Cola", because I combined ideas from Cube-Cola and Jan Krüger's recipe! :)

This time, when I did the mixing in a big plastic bowl, I noticed some floating stuff on the concentrate, which I assume are tiny plastic shavings produced by the hand mixer? I filtered them out, and might switch to glass or metal containers.
