@apzpins I’m a mediocre tinkerer at best so I drop lotta screws in the cabinet. Half of them are being vacuumed in by the big ass magnet of the sub. Took me a while to realise, lol.
@boink If only they fell into the cabinet every time! It's the absolute nightmare moment especially with older games with a lot of wiring when you drop a screw, hear it move in the upright playfield and then it just stops moving.
@apzpins I can only imagine. I once sunk a screw into my DE Jurassic Park's T-Rex assembly. The web says it's really fragile, so I was a bit concerned with the idea of taking it apart. Luckily a magnet on a stick eventually did the job.
@boink Does yours still have the T-rex's motor in one piece? When working for an operator, I recall we had two JP's, both with the gear box blown for some reason. The owner didn't want to waste money on it as the game worked without it.
@apzpins Luckily it still works well. The horizontal positioning doesn’t work perfect, so sometimes the ball gets stuck instead of being swallowed, but the ball search usually fixes that. I first assumed it’s an issue with the alignment of the center switch but moving it slightly didn’t help much. Maybe the gears are worn out a bit.
@apzpins It doesn't matter how many times you fix them, they've always got a way to surprise you.
