@bikenite A8. I was looking through photos and found video I took of a particularly annoying ride home with my kid. Painted stripes didn't deter drivers from driving in the bike lane, and someone with two "PLEASE BE PATIENT STUDENT DRIVER" stickers was driving with two hands on their cell phone and zero on the steering wheel. Someone else was eating salad out of a giant bowl in their lap. No hands on the steering wheel there either.
Grumbling aside, I found a nicer photo to share - these magnolia trees that we ride by frequently are in full bloom and they are lovely.

Reminds me of last century, when in Huntsville, Alabama I was on my bicycle stopped in the right lane at a stoplight on Holmes Avenue and Jordan Lane. On the green, the driver of the car that turned in the left lane was reading a newspaper on top of his steering wheel and spooning soup from a bowl, yes, an open bowl, of soup.
@ascentale @bikenite #BikeNite A8: Two more pictures from yesterday's #WinterBikeToWorkDay: A picture of when we arrived after teardown at Pro Velo's storage with the tent pavilion, beer bench sets, pole flags, flood lights and all the leftover merchandising stuff on two bicycle trailers and one cargo bike.
And the t-shirt I was wearing that day despite nobody saw it as it was too cold for running around just in a t-shirt.

@ascentale @bikenite A8. We had more ice in the reflecting pool than I’d seen previously as the temperature hit -3C.
@ascentale A8. This week I saw the psychedelic rock band Agouti at Bottom of the Hill, a legendary venue I love and will miss when it closes this year, despite the venue having tried to fight a protected bike lane in front. Looks like their patrons are enjoying the improvement.

@ascentale @bikenite #BikeNite A8. Snow! I actually have photos this week of my ride home from a meeting downtown in the snow, but my server is being uncooperative right now, so I can't upload them.
I had meetings downtown on both Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and both nights it snowed on me. I, of course, *still* have not put on eiher set of my Winter tires, but I was still fine, even going through 2" (5 cm) of snow on the way home.

@ascentale @bikenite Out on errands last time, I stopped by the Kenmore post office to drop off some mail and noticed a sign pointing me towards this new store: "music non-stop / play * record * collect"
Sadly they were closed that day despite being a Wednesday, but they do warn you:
"days & hours of operation are organic
generally wed - sat 12 pm - 8 pm usually on sunday & also by appointment
sometimes we close earlier & sometimes we close later, so call or check the website first"
their window display includes not just the usual antiques but things like WIRE RECORDINGS so I'm like
I gotta see this place when it's open

I only went to Burning Man once, but it was early in the days after it had moved from Baker Beach to Black Rock Desert.
Bikes figured in it early on (I think this was 1994). #BikeNite

Fat biked on the rail trail along river and saw many signs of otter and much ice. Biking was kind of squishy, warm weather and snowmobiles had churned things up, but a lovely day.

@ascentale @bikenite A8: I can't really ride b/c of an accident I had so I've been treating myself to tasty food to aid in the healing so i can get back on my bike. Today I had Russian Honey Cake, which I love but haven't had that often. #BikeNite
