A thread with photos from the zoo Hellabrunn in Munich and Wildpark Poing a bit outside the city. I have never been to both on one day but it was awesome and the weather was nice enough to not rain.

Visited with @kianga and @lynxonrails Thank you so much for coming the long way to visit.

These are the photos from Hellabrunn. The kitties were extra zoomy because a keeper was inside cleaning up, changing their water and stuff. Proof that lynxes are just oversized and fluffy house cats! Just look at them fluffy paws!

A really photogenic lynx sitting and posing on a large rock between small pine trees. All in winter fluff so extra fluffy! Looks a bit daydreaming but they were all watching the keeper inside their enclosure.

Although I can't recall it being that warm. For some reason he really likes sleeping on his tongue. Not the first photo I have of that. 😁 No, we are totally not silly creatures.

For the first time in a long time I managed to see both red pandas again. The one I have most photos of is more the zoomy type. Was getting up and down the tree and looking very busy with red panda things all the time. The other one was more of the lazy type. Just chilling in the tree and looking cozy.

Also for once got almost all of their tail onto a photo. Which they do use for climbing to hold onto branches sometimes. Not only fluffy, but useful!

Yeah, they dead

The completely muddy ones belong to Hellabrunn. But, getting mud all over you is supposed to be healthy I thought. So mud bath it is. Also the first time I saw them this lazy. Must have been a hell of a meal.

The other super cozy looking one was from Poing. They have such a large area that it's often difficult to even find them. Another pile of fluff was spotted behind a very large tree root. This one looked super cozy. Downside from their beautiful forest patch is, that it's quite dark there.

All of them just had their lunch. With crows picking up the leftovers.

I rarely have photos of these, but they have a large number of trained birds of prey at Poing. And they got to fly around with the keepers/instructors every day. I like how those majestic birds can have an extremely derpy and a very regal version of themselves. :D

I especially love the awesome neck feathers of the golden eagles in the sun. These were taken while they were in their "roosts" and at that very close to the camera so all I can get is very zoomed shots because I hate having fences on photos if that can be avoided.

There are lynxes from Poing as well but they turned out to be a bit more resistant to photos. All of them are effective zoom of 960mm at which the lens can only do f/6.3. And there was only a wobbly fence to put it against. Which made them slightly blurry.

But this pile of them always has some silly photos. I did not manage to catch the big yawns this time.

I have a few more photos but maybe this is enough fluff onslaught for today. 😁 Sorry for drowning your feed in them.

Three visible lynxes, actually it was four, lying and sitting under a tiny conifer tree. Only one of them looks quite awake and is eyeing a snack. Looking in your direction.

I also brought back a superb owl! Sadly their barn owl was hiding but I have this fluffy horned owl. The German glue company one. 😁 "Uhu"

Flew around a lot and made funny noises. Now I regret not making a video of that but videos with that clunker lens usually end up being completely out of focus for some reason.
