@thejessiekirk my experience with /e/Os official version (not community), locked bootloader and microG services on a fairphone 4: banking apps run just fine. The update frequency is lower than on lineage (monthly vs weekly).
But I guess that /e/Os will have similar issues when Alphabet closes up (but that's speculation)

Hi #FOSS fans, some #Android advice please:
Given how I can't find any information as to the future of #LineageOS after Alphabet closes up Android, I'm wondering if it's a good idea to switch to #eOS.
I need to re-flash my phone anyway in order to update LineageOS, so it's a good time.
I am concerned about app compatibility on /e/OS, like can I use banking apps and such?
Thanks! x

@bricabrac Murena devices and /e/ have poor privacy and atrocious security. They fail to keep up with OS updates and crucial privacy/security patches along with not providing standard privacy/security protections. Being weeks, months and even years behind on updates to the kernel, drivers, firmware, the rest of the OS and browser engine is a huge problem. Despite the marketing, /e/ has privacy invasive services and gives privileged access to Google apps/services.
...i'm more than happy in getting friends to the idea and use of degoogled smartphones or #linux, but in the first steps it has to be very simple in changing. That's a maybe ready bought #eOS, #shiftphone or #iode .
And my opinion.
P.S.:
#grapheneos plus #Fairphone or #shift...u would got me.
