On the white chalk cliffs on the coast of the island of Rügen in north-eastern Germany, a bare tree with many branches and small trunks protruding over the cliff towards the sea has formed many intertwined above-ground roots. But perhaps they are also tree trunks lying on the cliff, intertwined with each other. In the background, the turquoise Baltic Sea shines through the tangle and stretches to the bright sky on the horizon. Oben sind kleine weiße schaumige Elemente zu erkennen, unten Sandstrand, vom Regen mit einem punktförmigen Muster geformt. Washed-up algae form a wave-like pattern at the edge of a pool of water in the mudflats. The colours change from beige-green to reddish-brown, with some blackish-brown separating the areas. Small white foamy elements can be seen at the top, and sandy beach at the bottom, shaped by the rain into a dotted pattern.
