Just found out yesterday, that #QGis has an export function to save the current map view as PDF. That saved me some headaches for a publication on reconstructed river systems in the province of Norricum (Austria more or less) in the 1st century A.D. Only drawback was that the exported maps were squared, but I could cut off parts using #Inkscape - pretty cool, a high resolution scalable image for print. #Gis #History #histodonDE

Played with #QGis geotagged photos from one of our #Amsterdam canal boat rides. (see prior post about the NetBSD port somehow losing metadata).
The photos have timestamps, which needed a bit of pruning to show HH:MM:SS, including leading zeroes.
I'd like to learn how to "connect the dots" and show which canals we traversed. One day.
Timestamp snippet:
concat(hour("timestamp"), ':', lpad(minute("timestamp"),2,'0') , ':', lpad(second(timestamp),2,'0') )

Besides the known problem of the pkgsrc qgis not being able to write geotagged PDF maps because of gdal tool r/w gaps, found a new issue. I can add a geotagged photo layer, with labels, but when I make it permanent with a KML file, all of the fields but name go away. Pretty sure this worked before. Will test on other OS.
#QGis
Got our Iceland spots mapped. PNG but not geo-tagged PDF still.
#QGis
Made it to the continental sheet mixer, and a lot of shots in Grindavik.
