Seit Oktober läuft auf meinem privaten Gaming-PC CachyOS und hält sich wacker: Gefällt mir immer besser, je länger ich es habe. Für c't hab ich mir das aktuelle ISO-Image heruntergeladen und getestet. Spoiler: wird immer besser.

For me, the hardest part of getting a new computer is deciding what to run on it. I was tempted to play with #cachyos, but have decided to stick with a #fedora base. But, which spin? I want to give #niri a try, so maybe fedora server + niri or Sway spin + niri. Also new to me is this is my first exposure to Intel Arc graphics.

Two days ago, KDE Plasma 6.6 was released. Yesterday, the update for my distro was here. Update and reboot took less than 5 minutes. Everything is working.

Rolling release distros have the reputation to be unstable and that might be true in some cases, but Arch Linux and CachyOS do a really great job. And KDE anyway.
