#AskFedi: How would one typically interface any kind of CPU with more demanding physical interfaces (think Thunderbolt or DisplayPort, possibly even as input)? Is it just additional ICs to handles this, does this usually get built in? How does it typically work, e.g. in huns or docks?
I am completely inexperienced in this, but have silly ideas. Happy for any pointers (I will do my own research, but I feel some amazing Fedi creatures know a lot here).

We have cats, and sometimes the cats drag home fleas. As I notice flea signs, I get flea medicine from the veterinarian, dose the cats, change bedcovers, wash them at 60°C and go on till the next flea catches my attention.

At the vet, the lady dispensing the anti-flea got very excited about the horrible bloodsuckers, and told me to wash all textiles, vacuum carpets daily, desinfect all surfaces, wash the sofa and freeze every unwashable textile.

I feel that is over the top. Or not?

#AskFedi: Long shot, but: anyone have an old Trust Soundforce1200 speaker set? The ~2000 era beige boxes with the wooden subwoofer. It doesn't need to function perfectly or even necessarily be complete. I need replacement parts for mine...

(Yes I know it's old, no I haven't found any speaker set that can replace it to my standards, no anything Logitech isn't an option. If you know this specific speaker set and the unique sound it produces, and have a recommendation for a suitable modern replacement, it would be very welcome though! But no generic purchasing recommendations please.)

Ich überlege diesen Tarif zu nutzen, um in den "Dunkelmonaten" die Batterie meiner #PV in dieser Zeit vollzuladen, um diesen günstigen Strom dann tagsüber nutzen zu können.

Meine Frage an das #Fediverse wäre jetzt: Gibt es bzw. kennt ihr #Stromanbieter, die das Gleiche anbieten wie #Octopus? Gerne kann diese Frage geteilt werden.

I need to figure out how I can set up a self-hosted system to sell my documentary The Illusionists.

Sure, I could host it on PeerTube and add all kinds of foreign language subtitles there... but I need a solution to generate unique URLs for everyone who purchases a 48-hour streaming license... all this to avoid piracy of course.

Yes I know the Fediverse loves 🏴‍☠️​ but how can we independent filmmakers survive?

I've been using a mainstream platform to sell my film and they have just been bought by an infamous company, so I want to decamp ASAP.

I would love your suggestions.

And no, services that offer to sell digital products won't work because it's a 90 minute film that requires subtitles for many so the viewer needs to see it on an online platform that displays subtitles.
