@jspath55 I'd guess it's the receiver for a wireless doorbell or similar.

The unconnected lead on C17 forms the antenna for wireless reception.

Doorbell or lock can be determined by what's on the end of the red & yellow wires.

@bbeaker Appreciated! I was thinking antenna but had never seen one like that.
I think there is a speaker beneath; haven't unscrewed the board yet.
There was probably a push button in the same "junk" drawer.
