@abbynormative Yup. Every time they walk into Ake's office I think that they must have spent a far larger budget on the sets than the writing.
@mikemccaffrey @abbynormative I keep hearing "the writing is bad", but what exactly about it is bad? Because I'm not seeing it.
I'm not sure the writing in Starfleet Academy is bad, as much as lazy and half-hearted. There is also a tone mismatch between the silly comedy bits they are trying to do and the serious visual aesthetic they got from Discovery.
Despite also being for a younger audience, the writing in Prodigy felt absolutely snappy in comparison, and the animated format successfully allowed them to be more ridiculous at times.
@mikemccaffrey @abbynormative I'm sorry, this is still super abstract. You've just replaced "bad" with "lazy and half-hearted". Can you give some concrete examples of that? And what does "snappy" writing look like?
