My notebook only has 8Gb of RAM, but otherwise is quite fine.
With #kicad 10 around the corner those 8Gb are not enough for a browser and kicad at the same time, so I am considering of upgrading the memory. But its soldered down.

The fun part is that @gregdavill made a blogpost about that. And my XPS13 seems to be quite similar - I already checked the schematic.

I will need some board to practice first though before I even consider buying new chips.

Dell XPS13 RAM Upgrade (7390)

I’d recently bought a new XPS13 7390 (non 2-in-1) laptop. I had bought the 8GB variant, how hard could it be to upgrade?

@cccpresser @gregdavill I'm not saying not to, but soldering RAM chips would scare the daylights out of me.
I'm not saying to throw out the 8G laptop, but passing it on to someone who can use it and buying a second hand 16G one should be a reasonable option.
That type of soldering is something I more think of for boards worth thousands, not what a 8G RAM laptop is worth.

@LovesTha @cccpresser for me it was quite a bit cheaper to rework the RAM, compared to selling and buying a new laptop. With the RAM market what it is now this cost gap is likely even bigger.
