You really do need to read this writeup on what data about you is collected when you "verify your identity" on services like Discord or LinkedIn.

The TL;DR - Your contact information, biometrics, geolocation, government identification number, passport, and your photograph will be shared with no less than twenty other companies, data brokers, and government agencies. It will be used for training data and tracking you on and off line.
