So this saw was (probably) originally purchased at the Stebbins Hardware Co at 15 W. Van Buren Street, Chicago.
Unclear how long that store was around...

Looks like some kind of lawsuit involving Disston saws there from the 1960's, lol.
Apparently, 15 W. Van Buren is part of the Chicago Library now.
I guess I know what reference desk to call if I really wanted to figure out how old this saw was... curious if they have any old "Stebbins Hardware" catalogs, if they exist. Or at least, old advertisements from Chicago newspapers!
Interesting, that building is from 1988!

Aha! I suspect the saw was either made for Stebbins Hardware by Disston. Or, it was made by another company in the style of a Disston D.95
Same lines, same shape, 100% same markings on the handle, aside from the different medallion.

@ai6yr My father was a carpenter in Australia, it looks exactly like one of his many Disston saws. Dad made up a wooden-jawed vice contraption to sharpen his saws every other weekend or so. (He framed our house in the early 60s before we had power connected. Sharp saws equals less work.)
