No Adverts
No Tracking
More environmentally friendly
Can pass it on to grandchildren
Better quality
Works without Internet, which needs an ongoing payment.
A corporation can't delete it tomorrow.

It’s a far easier path to entry for new people, and releasing an ep a week helps new people experience at least a simulacrum of how TV used to be, when we had to wait for each installment.
