"the technology is not yet price effective for the average driver" Train. Seriously come on choo choo bitches let's gOOOOOO the-river-is-right-there-chopper People who dreamt up "flying cars" have been too blinded by their vision to realize they've already been invented and even have a name - "helicopters". Same goes for the vague idea of "pod" based transport. People just can't accept that the most efficent pods are big, to accomodate the most people, linked together, to minimalize the amount of engines needed, and have been called "trains" for over a century
