Please stop this myth that Europe is this magical progressive place, much less "socialist".

Just today I read an article that a guy from our current ruling party said this about queer and trans people:

"There were times where they at least had the decency to set themselves on fire."

Another member of the party then felt like this was not okay and leaked this to the press. That member was then thrown out of the party for being a traitor. The original guy said that implying he's queerphobic is "absurd".

Look.

Our ruling parties fantasise about burning queer people alive. This is far from the only incident of this type. They literally met with DeSantis to coordinate on how to combat trans people.

Please stop coddling and celebrating "centrists" in Europe and blaming everything on the alt-right. Things are only very marginally better here compared to y'all's Trump.
