@internetarchive I have tried. It's actually terribly written (the diary just keeps going, without anything actually happening), but someone figured out how to make some incredible stories out of it.

In a totally different vein, Dumas' work is very difficult to read in many of its English translations, but they are amazing stories (I wish I could read in French).
