Some of my favorite podcasters went to Minneapolis. The regular news is not covering any of this properly-- but these folks know what they're talking about.
Both are experienced with mutual aid activities such as the hurricane relief efforts in North Carolina, or feeding and helping refugees down at the border in places like Arizona. (One also has a doctorate in history focused on the Spanish Civil War, so knows a few things about how people fight fascism.) The border work is particularly relevant because they've been seeing Border Patrol act like ICE for years-- out in the boonies where hardly anyone is watching-- and now the brutality is finally becoming more apparent to previously comfortable white folks in cities.
This is an excellent description of what's really going on in the places that are getting hit hard right now, and how people are responding-- and, moreover, what WORKS. Decentralized, spontaneous, autonomous organizing that's springing out of the woodwork!
If you want a clearer idea of how this shit can be handled, how communities react, and so on, this is the kind of coverage we need.
(They finished these episodes just 9hrs before Alex Pretti was executed.)
