Have you heard about the very slow movie player?

I was building one of those using the Waveshare "4.3inch e-Paper UART module" because it featured an onboard SD card slot. However, turns out the filesystem library in their firmware was limited on the maximum number of files it could handle.

So best you build your own and drive the display yourself.
