As a parent, this season reminds me of some very specific #ParentingAdvice that I discovered years ago. If you have young kids, say 7 and under, they might be getting #toys that make battery powered noises. Those things are WAY too loud.
Put a small square of clear packing tape over the toy's speaker. The thing will still make noise, but it'll be dulled to a sane level. And chances are your kid won't notice - or care.
