Perhaps a wild but real example of this is the proposal to launch a ton of satellites into orbit around earth. They would supposedly redirect sunlight onto certain areas during the night. I have to read more about this particular issue but the idea seems truly disastrous at this point.

It’s impossible to overreact to the climate crisis. People have never endured the conditions we are poised to unleash on ourselves.

Earth has seen great change in the past, sure, but Homo sapiens was not in the picture during it. We’ve only just arrived. People developed great power since then to influence the conditions of this planet - OUR ONLY ONE - so I hope more of us wake up. Now is the best time.

Too wound up to go to bed, so I just sent lots of emails to people hoping that they'll spread the word and get lots more people to write comments to the FCC telling them that orbital data centres and sunlight-as-a-service are incredibly stupid, dangerous ideas and should never be launched.

I don't think it'll actually make a big difference. But I do think it's incredibly important that the official record shows how many opposed this.

The only ethical thing you can do is to do everything in your power to prevent such harmful things from happening. Make sure you NEVER give a dime to any of Musks companies! And spread the word!
