A 65-year-old British grandmother who went on vacation in the United States but ended up in a prison-like #ICE detention for six weeks is warning people to avoid travel to the country for the #FIFA #WorldCup this summer. Karen Newton offered the advice while recounting her unexpected ordeal to The Guardian.
"Don’t go–not with Trump in charge. It’s totally out of control over there," she said. "There’s no accountability. They don’t seem to need a reason for detaining you.”
