FINALLY I can deploy and run #podman #container on #OpenWrt by deploying them via my #Ansible collection.
It took some tinkering and there is at least one nasty workaround but it seems to working reliably now.

I'm now finally able to declaratively deploy and run podman containers on my OpenWrt firewall. This opens so many new possibilities. Looking forward to building my own DNS architectural designs.

kann mir ein:e #openwrt Spezialist:in mit #39c3-Erfahrung sagen, wie eine WiFi STA im config/wireless (ohne luci) konfiguriert werden muss, dass es mit den Congress APs geht? Hatte es jedes Jahr probiert, aber ging nie, möchte mich dieses Jahr besser vorbereiten 😉

@geerlingguy and a bare Raspberry Pi has typically not been an option for an #OpenWrt based mesh router: The Broadcom WiFi sucks for mesh routing, it doesn't support 11s (and it doesn't support AP mode and multiple virtual WLAN interfaces, if I recall correctly?).
And only a single ethernet port has been annoying for that, too. Of course, you can always use a USB ethernet dongle(s), but then you have to make sure to install the right driver(s) and to not confuse the roles for each port.

Ich plane übrigens meine Peertube Instanz von meinen Hetzner Server zu einem Server bei mir zu Hause zu verschieben (vorausgesetzt ich kriege mit dem #OpenWRT Router das Routing hin).

Das hätte zwei Vorteile:
1. Ich könnte meiner Peertube Instanz mehr Speicher gönnen.
2. Ich würde pro Monat knapp 145€ sparen da ich den Hetzner Server dann kündigen könnte.

Da ich Gigabit Internet habe, sollte die Bandbreite eigentlich auch ausreichen.
