Sure could have used something like this earlier in my career.
“A lot of #Jews choose to work in the #nonprofit industry because it really reflects their #Jewish values and aligns with their desire to make the world a better place,” #SharonLeslie, founding executive director of the newly launched #BlueCompass, which combats #antisemitism in the nonprofit sector, told eJewishPhilanthropy.
The #survey, “Jewish #Professionals in Secular Nonprofits,” released by Blue Compass yesterday, found that over a third of Jewish nonprofit workers working for non-Jewish nonprofits have considered leaving their jobs, that nearly 40% of workers have witnessed antisemitism at work and that 41% feel uncomfortable expressing their Jewish identity at professional events.
These statistics are grim compared to other fields..."

Fedistralia is going to be up in arms this week.
" #Australia’s peak #Jewish organisations have welcomed the federal government’s decision to establish a #CommonwealthRoyalCommission into #antisemitism and the circumstances leading to the #BondiBeach #terrorist attack. They described the move as a necessary national response to unprecedented levels of hatred directed at Jewish #Australians.
The president of the Executive Council of #Australian #Jewry, #DanielAghion, said the government had “made the right decision” in heeding sustained calls from the Jewish community, victims’ families and a broad cross section of Australian society.
"We are especially grateful to the eminent artists, lawyers, business leaders, sporting legends, political figures, women’s organisations and other groups who added their powerful voices to this call,” Aghion said."

"The #Hanukkah attack did not come out of nowhere. #Antisemitism in #Australia was never abstract to me; it was visible and real. As a child, I remember #yeshiva students being harassed while walking down the street wearing #kippot, and car-bombing scares near a #Jewish institution in #Melbourne. Even when I didn’t fully grasp their seriousness, these incidents became part of the background noise of growing up Jewish in Australia.
#Oct7 marked a turning point, when the intensifying antisemitism across the country reached a fever pitch that has not abated. My mother and one of my brothers live within walking distance of Adass Israel #Synagogue, which was set on fire in 2024. In a separate incident that same year, East Melbourne #Hebrew Congregation was also set on fire during a Friday night gathering. These attacks were not distant news stories; they struck close to the places and people I know and love."

“Groups that claim to stand for #humanrights cannot at the same time excuse or justify attacks on #Jews,” he said. “There is no #progressive exception for #antisemitism.”
#Jewish advocacy organizations have long warned that extreme #antizionist rhetoric can slide into explicit antisemitism when Jews are collectively blamed, dehumanized, or targeted for violence."

Never out of date: how Hannah Arendt helps us understand our world.
Fifty years after her death in New York, Hannah Arendt has become the most popular philosopher of our time.
For good reason: Her views are just as timely as ever.

Glad things aren't getting too extreme. 😬
"A property belonging to the #antisemitismcommissioner for the #German state of #Brandenburg was targeted in a suspected #arson attack on Sunday.
#AndreasBüttner, the state’s commissioner of combatting #antisemitism, wrote in a post on X that his family was home at the time of the attack, which targeted a shed on his property in #Templin, a small town in Brandenburg. He said that no one was injured during the attack.
“This attack represents a massive escalation,” wrote Büttner. “It is directed against me personally, against my family, and against my home. At the same time, it is an expression of hatred and intimidation. I will not be intimidated by this.”
An inverted #redtriangle, a symbol #Hamas uses to mark its targets in #propaganda videos, was also spray-painted on the front door of a house adjacent to the shed."
