Dilman Dila is a Ugandan writer and filmmaker of speculative fiction. His most recent book, Where Rivers Go To Die, was a finalist at the Philip K Dick Awards (2024). Other accolades include a shortlist for the BSFA Awards (2021), the Nommo Awards (2017, 2021), and the Commonwealth Short Story Prize (2013). His short fiction have appeared in Africa Risen, The Best Science Fiction of the Year: Volume Six, and in The Best of World SF V.2, among other anthologies. His films have won multiple awards. The short masterpiece, What happened in Room 13 (2007), has over eight million online views, while The Felistas Fable (2013) was nominated for Best First Feature by a Director at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2014. He is currently making his third feature film, a solarpunk about a decentralized country without politicians and without capitalism.
