I live in a house with a spouse and cairn terrier (Bennie) on Treaty 6 territory and homeland of the Metis 🇨🇦 :metis:
I retired in 2018 from a compliance position at a multinational. Now I twiddle around the house between volunteering, hanging out with Bennie & reaping the rewards of having a spouse with a greenhouse & 3D printing interests.
Interests include tech, occupational health & safety and science-based health & wellness. Volunteering is the antidote to social media. I am Canadian.

"We are thankful for these and all the good things of life. We recognize that they are a part of our common heritage and come to us through the efforts of our brothers and sisters the world over. What we desire for ourselves, we wish for all. To this end, may we take our share in the world's work and the world's struggles. "- J. S. Woodsworth

I am an Indigenous writer / journalist originally from Attawapiskat FN. I am a Kattawapiskak Ininew (a Mushkego Cree) and a member of Attawapiskat FN which is on the James Bay coast in northern Ontario. I was born and raised in my home community and I fluently speak my Cree language. Since 1997, I have been producing my regular column titled 'Under The Northern Sky' as well as working as a journalist writing about Indigenous people, communities and issues in the north.
I photograph and write about the world I see around me here on Vancouver Island: the forests and hllls, things green and wet, the none- to multi-legged critters that scramble, ooze, and slither on our beaches, birds and the occasional beast.
