I just learned about #openscad recently. I'm loving it for several reasons. It's easy to just make something, the files are just text so easy to version control. Also, I really appreciate that you're writing code to describe what you want to render.

@rtn use an IDE for coding and openscad just for rendering. A file watch will care for updating the model. I use vscodium + "leathong.openscad-language-support" extension

@stmllr So you can call out to openscad via cli or so?

@rtn no cli involved. Just open the GUI and your IDE in parallel, open file.scad in both applications and start editing.
