With everything going on I think this slipped past a lot of people but France has swapped Kasatkin the Russian basketballer accused of being a #ransomware gang member for a French citizen held in #Russia. Did we ever figure out which ransomware gang? I can’t remember now.

@realhackhistory I don't think anything has been confirmed but there were suspicions that the description overlapped with accusations against Conti (e.g. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/russian-pro-basketball-player-arrested-for-alleged-role-in-ransomware-attacks/)
@AnotheRB I had thought it was Conti too but couldn’t be sure I wasn’t misremembering. Makes sense the Russian government made an effort to retrieve him as supposedly Conti are very friendly with some politicians.
