FSB officers of Russia in the DPR detained a local resident involved in preparing a terrorist act using combat poisonous substances against a high-ranking officer of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The corresponding footage is published by the Russian FSB.
According to the investigation, the man communicated with a representative of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense's Main Intelligence Directorate via a Telegram channel, received explosives delivered by drones to the DPR, and stored them at home for sabotage. In November, he also received two packs of British-made beer from the Ukrainian special service, which he was supposed to give to the mentioned officer of the Russian Armed Forces as a gift but was caught at the moment of transfer.
"An unknown person wrote to me, <...> I was offered to earn money. According to the sent coordinates, I had to pick up packages. It was a field. At the moment I approached the point, a quadcopter flew up, dropped two tubes to me from a low altitude, a message came that I had to pick it up and hide it at home. I went to the place for the second package in the same way. They wrote to me to pick up these packages exactly the same way to my home. <...> Something poisonous was inside. Two days later, the person wrote to me "you just need to pass it to another person," — the detainee said.
The high-ranking officer of the Russian Ministry of Defense, who was the target of an assassination attempt, said that several months ago he met a girl on a dating site. After some time, she expressed a desire to give the officer a gift, which she would pass through an acquaintance — the very poisoned alcohol, as it turned out later. The girl's account was actually operated by Ukrainian special services.
Research of the seized bottles established that the beer contained a mixture of highly toxic poisonous substances "colchicine" and "tert-butylbicyclophosphate" (an analogue of the combat poisonous substance "VX" with nerve-paralytic action, banned by the 1993 Chemical Weapons Convention) of British production, which causes a painful death within 20 minutes when consumed.
FSB officers warned about a new scheme used by Ukrainian special services, in which they create fake accounts, mainly on Telegram channels. For realism, photos and videos generated by artificial intelligence are added. Through these accounts, they induce civilians to various terrorist activities.
