Alarmingly ramped up ideological messaging from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

https://www.cdc.gov/vaccine-safety/about/autism.html

From the footnote on the first heading within the article (‘Vaccines do not cause autism*’), we can see there is clearly a lot of tension behind the scenes.

For the avoidance of doubt, no, vaccines do not cause autism. Furthermore, there is nothing wrong with being Autistic. (Elon Musk is just one Autistic person – the vast majority of us aren’t like that!)

Vaccine Safety

Autism and Vaccines

Answers to common questions about vaccine safety and autism.
A web page from the CDC (cdc.gov) under the section ‘Vaccine safety’/’Common vaccine safety questions and concerns’. Dated 19 November 2025, audience ‘everyone’. The text reads:

Autism and vaccines

Key points

• The claim “vaccines do not cause autism”is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism.

• Studies supporting a link have been ignored by health authorities.

• HHS has launched a comprehensive assessment of the causes of autism,
including investigations on plausible biologic mechanisms and potential causal links.
