I was tidying in the garden and pulled out what looks a lot like a spring onion, earlier today.
It is sitting on a white dinner plate. The green leaves are long, making it much longer than the diameter of the plate. The roots, on the other hand, are so numerous and long, you could use it as a (very unruly) paintbrush!
Now, I said it looks like a spring onion but, when you smell it, it is very clearly garlic! It never did form a bulb... In fact, just moving it in here to take the photo, and this room now smells of garlic!
