A Car Dashboard Does Not A Good Tripod Make **

24th Street, in the Mission.
9 seconds, 5:30 p.m., yesterday, in the rain.

I am really chuffed about how this came out. Yes, it's a hot mess. But look at how it glows... like a picture of neon printed on metal! This is my new favorite picture. No need to shoot any more. I can hang up my camera.

** Stick around. There will be more terrible tips about photography coming soon.

#photography #LongExposure

A long exposure photo taken through a wet windshield (with a camera perched on a towel, no worries) while driving slowly down a business corridor in the heart of the Mission.

Overhead: black skies.

On the left: white headlights of opposing traffic, reduced to a bright white smear on the wet car glass.

On the right and overhead: squiggles of red car tail lights, green traffic lights... plus a few out-of-focus and a few glowing buildings and a parklet.

Below: gray, shiny streets, wet from the rain.
