Yikes, Fedora is starting to allow AI-Assisted Contributions... Apparently a vote for it was held, and it succeeded.
I didn't know this was a thing, it honestly makes me feel like Fedora is out of my rotation of distros now. That was a nail that secured disinterest from me. So glad that I am sticking with Ubuntu or Debian installs; unless openSUSE manages to install on my PCs going forward.
I've seen how shitty Microsoft has been going with Vibe coding, I can't see AI assisted contributions being much better. What's worse is the AI is trained on the mass scrapings of open source repositories. This choice feels so wrong. Proprietary software is hostile to users, why allow its assistance in contributions is beyond me?!
