Das Bild zeigt eine Allee von stark beschnittenen Platanenbäumen an einem bewölkten Tag, aufgenommen aus einer niedrigen Perspektive, die eine große Pfütze im Vordergrund einschließt. Die Bäume, deren Äste zu knorrigen, knöchelartigen Strukturen zurückgeschnitten wurden, spiegeln sich deutlich in der braunen Pfütze wider und erzeugen eine symmetrische Komposition. Die Reflexion nimmt fast die gesamte untere Hälfte des Bildes ein. Im oberen Teil erstrecken sich die kahlen Äste vor einem hellgrauen Himmel. Rechts steht eine traditionelle Straßenlaterne, die sich ebenfalls im Wasser spiegelt. Im Hintergrund, hinter den Baumreihen, ist ein Gebäude mit Arkaden zu sehen. Die Szene ist in gedeckte Winterfarben getaucht, hauptsächlich Braun- und Grautöne, mit einigen verstreuten trockenen Blättern im Wasser.

A section of the upper-level windows of the New School building at 14th Street and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, as seen from street level looking upward. The windows are in long bands made up of multiple rectangular and triangular glass panels. Each panel is canted upward or downward at a different angle so that they collectively break up a reflection of the scene across the street: bits of blue sky or distorted fragments of a building’s facade and windows. The perspective is angled so that the building lines parallel to the street appear diagonal in the photo, crossing from lower left to upper right, with a large triangle of sky in the upper left corner — blue with wispy white clouds.

Das Bild zeigt eine große, runde Wandlampe, die an einer hellen, grob verputzten Wand montiert ist. Die Lampe ist in einer extremen Seitenansicht fotografiert, wodurch ihre stark nach außen gewölbte Form besonders deutlich wird. Sie wirkt wie eine glatte, glänzende Halbkugel, die sich von der rauen Textur der Wand abhebt. In der reflektierenden Oberfläche der Lampe zeigt sich eine verzerrte Panorama-Ansicht der Umgebung.
