Today it was my own windows' turn. My vision gradually became blurry and I saw a zigzag pattern appearing in my eyes. Ocular migraine.

With an ocular migraine or migraine aura, a wave of altered electrical activity (CSD) sweeps across the visual cortex (at the back of the head).

It starts as a small spot and gradually expands into an arc of jagged lines with bright colors of blue, pink, yellow, white, and black.

The visual cortex processes information in "tiles/columns," making edges appear geometric.

I always try to draw exactly what I see, but you can't focus properly. The image also changes over time. After an hour, it's gone. Fortunately for me it doesn’t come with a headache.

This photograph is from November 2020; my kid was in virtual pre-kindergarten (yes really), and we were able to spend a school week at Steep Ravine using a mobile hotspot for school.

Buntglasfenster von Kiki Smith und Deborah Gans in der Eldridge Street Synagoge in New York.

Sehr großes, rundes Buntglasfenster, das hauptsächlich blau, nach innen hin erst weiß, dann gelb ist. Im Zentrum befindet sich ein blauer sechszackiger Stern. Das Glas ist durchgehend von feinen Linien unterteilt und mit hellen und dunklen Sternen übersät. Über dem Fenster befindet sich ein Bronzerahmen, der das Fenster in sechs Bereiche unterteilt. Der Rahmen hat im Zentrum ebenfalls die Form eines sechszackigen Sterns, von dessen Spitzen geschwungene Linien zum Rand führen. Die umgebende, dunkelblaue Wand ist auch mit Sternen übersät.
