Ein Welt ohne #NixOS ist möglich.
Wrote my first (working) flake.
I still don't understand most of it, but I managed to successfully modify the template.
I'm still quite confused by what this thing actually does and why things (appear to) have be specified 29485 times instead of once.
But I think this is already good enough as a start. Right?
(Also is there an eta for when flakes are GA and no longer need the experimental features flags?

Kinda feel like writing an all-in-one self-hosting #NixOS flake. You'd enter only essential info like your DNS address and which service(s) you want enabled, and the flake takes care of the rest, including automatic upgrades, reverse proxying, Let's Encrypt, etc. I'm sure someone's already done this, but still
Looks like I'll have to stick with #nixos for now...

It's probably the popular python setup mistake everyone does.
First of all,
Instead of venv use flake directly. Coz nix is like venv but ecosystem agnostic, so people don't do venv with nix.

4) thought wasn't there a "shell.nix" or something that would be similar to a venv but also allow to add additional packages as dependencies that I could use? *5 minutes later* ok, but how does this thing work. It appears to have an entirely different syntax for whatever reason...
5) Use a container instead? Kinda don't want to. But for sure would be easier and faster...

I thought I understand now the basics of nix(os). Well apparently no. Currently failing at getting my python project to work because of:
1) venv doesn't work as it is missing a shared library (was created on archlinux)
2) thought to just install pyenv. Ok doesn't work as it fails to find a C compiler to build the desired python version.
3) Think just overwrite the pyenv package and inject the compiler as a runtime dependency. Ok, but how? How do you combine these two things???

I'm seeing my Ryzen AI 300 in my @frameworkcomputer 13 throttle down to 600MHz under load although the temp is only 75 degrees. This happens with powerprofile balanced. On performance it sometimes hits 3GHz, but most of the time less. I suspected this is a @nixos_org / linux latest kernel issue. But just today somebody from work reported the same on a Framework 16 with Ryzen 7 running ubuntu.
Anybody else seeing this?
