A side by side comparison of a edited version of a steam machine and deep thought from the Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy (a giant computer that looks like a person with a huge cuboid head in a thinking pose, with a thin slit partially illuminated in green to indicate talking, and a small eye on the right side).
The steam machine has been recoloured to the same rough brassy texture as deep thought, the LED bar at the bottom is recoloured green (and darkened on either edge) to mimic the mouth. Kernel-level anti-cheat feels like it's everywhere now, and will remain a thorn in Valve's side for the new Steam Machine powered by SteamOS Linux.

Quick reminder on the likely reason why Valve's New Steam Machine only supports #HDMI 2.0:

""At this time an open source HDMI 2.1 implementation is not possible without running afoul of the HDMI Forum requirements.""

This is what Alex Deucher, the maintainer of the amdgpu #kernel driver, said one and a half years ago here:

And from the ticket it looks like the problem remains.
