#introductions Hi Fediverse! I’m a #Texas transplant living in Stavanger, #Norway for the past 10 years. You’ll find me sharing my favorite #Gardening adventures, #vegan recipes (yes, I jumped in with those first!), and life abroad.
Keeping up with everything going on back in the States has been challenging—and explaining it to folks here, where I’m often the default #american explainer, is even trickier! So I cast a wide net for input on this- #fediverse let’s see what u got!

Sometimes a farm doesn’t begin in rows and acres… it begins in bags and containers
Right here, right where you are.
I use old bags and containers as nursery beds, watching tiny seeds push through the soil with so much courage. They grow slowly, safely, protected until the day they are strong enough to be transplanted into their permanent home. That moment always feels like sending a child to the next class in life
This small beginning saves space

farming teaches me that life doesn’t have to be complicated spinach reminds me of that every day. Give it good soil, enough light and regular water and then step back and watch nature take over. Just simple care and patience, and it flourishes generously.
As I water and watch the green leaves stretch towards the sun, I’m reminded that growth comes from consistency, not complexity. Spinach doesn’t ask for much, yet it gives so much fresh meals, healthy plates

Planning my garden like "24 sunflowers should be good ... 16 winter squash, that's plenty ... only 400 beans? that's not enough!"
A mound of parsley! It’s so handy having this right out back, steps from my kitchen. #Garden #PlantDaddy #gardening
Harlequin carrots that look like eldritch terrors when pulled from the ground. Their earthy flavors are delightful. #Garden #PlantDaddy #gardening

#Garden 🧵- the rains toppled my #sunflower stalks, but one survived, leaning against the fence. The bees are loving it. #PlantDaddy #gardening
