Wieder etwas später, die kleine Tomate liest immernoch, bemerkt die große Tomate, dass die Spinne sehr bedrückt schaut und fragt, was los ist. Die Spinne beschwert sich, dass sie sich langweilt, die kleine Tomate ständig nur liest und keine Zeit für sie hat. Die große Tomate bittet die Spinne um Geduld und Verständnis, da es der kleinen Tomate eben wichtig ist, ihr Buch zu Ende zu lesen.
