Linus Torvalds supports allowing AI code in #kernel development and doesn't have any issue with it, sees it as just another tool.
#Linux users who hate AI and claim they'll avoid anything with code created with it...
*Crickets*
The moral of this story is:
#AI / #ML has been used successfully in some areas and will continue to be.
A distinction should be made as to whether or not it's #GenerativeAI or AI features in apps that no one wants that are being pushed... or if it's the use of it where it works.
But we're not there yet, it just sounds like people putting their heads in the sand and not making that distinction and instead jumping on the 'All AI is useless train'.
It's tiring, i'll be happy when that changes.
I am not pro-AI myself and i completely get what people dislike about it and how it's being pushed. The economic bubble is also a huge concern to me as well.
But at present i see so many posts here that read as ignorant as to these facts.
If you think you can avoid #AI and anything it's touched, i have some bad news for you.
Especially if you use #linux.
