Good news: #discord is no longer contracting Persona for age verification.
"Both Persona and Discord confirmed to Fortune their partnership lasted for less than a month and has since dissolved. According to Discord, only a small number of users were part of this test, in which any information submitted could be stored for up to seven days before it would be deleted."

More good #discord news: they're postponing their age verification plans until the second half of 2026. Until then, they want to provide transparency on the age inference model, add a new type of "spoiler" channel (so server owners won't need to use age restricted channels for discussing spoiling content), and disclose details on all contractors they work with and what data gets transferred to them.
Sounds promising to me.
